In this course, students will learn what FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics is all about, including how teams design, build, and program robots to compete in new games that are revealed each fall. The class will introduce the design process—from brainstorming and prototyping to mechanical assembly, coding, testing, and making improvements—while emphasizing teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Students will get hands-on experience with an FTC robot, exploring how real teams prepare for competitions. They will learn what makes FTC unique, including its exciting seasonal challenges, competitive yet collaborative events, and the opportunity to showcase creativity and technical skills. Whether you are new to robotics or planning to join your school’s FTC team, this course will provide a solid foundation in both the technical and strategic aspects of competitive robotics.
