Introduction to Video Game Development provides students with a foundation in the exciting world of game creation. The course explores the essentials of game design and development, including the fundamentals of game mechanics, programming, art, and sound design. Students will also be introduced to common game engines, gaining insight into how professionals bring together creative and technical elements to build interactive experiences.

The majority of the class will be hands-on, with students creating a simple 3D game in Unity, one of the most widely used game engines in the industry. Using pre-made assets, students will learn how to integrate and refine different components into a working game. By the end of the course, each student will have a playable game that can run on any standard computer, providing a tangible project to showcase their new skills.
